Unlike young hares and fawns, young squirrels are not left alone for long periods of time. Please note, though, that sometimes squirrels have multiple nests and you may come across a baby alone when the mother is in the process of moving them from one nest to another. Please monitor from afar, and if no parent returns to collect a young squirrel within a couple of hours, collect them and bring into our Wildlife Hospital (12515 128 Street, Edmonton) and call the Wildlife Helpline ahead of time to let us know you are coming (780-914-4118). If we cannot answer live, please do leave a message. See our contact page for hours and location. If this happens after our hours, there are two 24-hour Emergency Vet Clinics you could bring the babies to.
