Opportunity: WILDCare Director

This position reports to the Executive Director, and is responsible for the case management, care and review of all wildlife patients admitted at our Edmonton Hospital and Parkland County Rehabilitation Centre. The incumbent will direct all WILDCare staff and facilities, be responsible for budget administration, and will work closely with the Executive Director to lead and advance WILDNorth’s programs and services.

The applicant must possess/demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in the wildlife rehabilitation field
  • Completion of (or willing to complete) the Basic and Advanced Wildlife rehabilitation IWRC course
  • Completion of degree program in Animal Health Technology and must be eligible for registration with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association
  • Considerable financial management experience
  • Ability to identify, and handle, most native Alberta mammals and birds
  • Exemplary communication, organizational, and staff management skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays, when needed
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Current vaccinations for tetanus, rabies, and covid-19
