Other Ways to Support WILDNorth

Call to all Gardeners!

Want to help wildlife in an easy way? Grow, pick, and donate food for our wild patients over the months of May-August. Your green thumb could help feed the hungry and recovering animals in our care.

We ask that, when harvesting, you please consider safe collection. This means it is confirmed to be pesticide free, the collection pails are clean and washed out between each collection, and that you do not harvest on private property or in provincial parks.

What we need varies based on the month. Here is a detailed list of what we expect to need over the summer:
May: Wild Berries (wild Blueberries and Saskatoon berries), Shepherd’s Purse, Dandelion leaves, and Raspberry leaves.
June: Kale, or green or red leaf lettuce is a second option, Berries (wild blueberries and Saskatoon berries), Corn, Peas, Apples, Sweet Potato, Dandelion and Raspberry leaves, Shepherd’s Purse, and Sunflowers and their seeds.
July: Kale, or green or red leaf lettuce is a second option, Berries (wild blueberries, Saskatoon berries, Mountain Ash), Corn, Peas, Apples, Sweet Potato, Dandelion and Raspberry leaves, Shepherd’s Purse, and Sunflowers and their seeds.
